PROGRAM FOR THE EDUCATION AND FEEDING OF THE NGÄBE CHILDHOOD
CONSTRUCTION OF NGÄBE -BUGLÉ NATION FEEDING SHELTER
Significantly, in 2020, PROEDUC.A.N.N, “SJR”, was founded by Armando and Cirila Palacios Dixon. Presently, they serve Chorcha, Chorchita, and Soloy. In addition, they provide meals twice a week to the children and will be starting the afterschool program again since the Covid shutdown. Armando also works for the Panamanian government in Bocas in education.
Finally, the new Chorcha Children’s Feeding Shelter construction began on April 9-10th, 2021. Fortunately, a Ngäbe lady, Martina Rodriguez, donated land.

As a side note, Proeducann formally began their paperwork on November 1, 2020. They now have the non- profit organization legalized by the Panama government March 24th,2023.

had a hand when Dr. Dan Daves helped Proeducann founders Armando and Cirila Dixon and a Ngäbe nutritionist student Ana Paola Puzo with her thesis -like study for Universidad Autónoma de Chiriquí(UNACHI). She wrote on the theme of superfoods- mixing spinach, broccoli, kale, for example in dehydration form. Dr. Dan disperses dehydrated superfoods out to the Comarca or for needy people who need more nutrition in their diets. We gave a seminar last year on the Comarca with Dr. Dan regarding this same project of dehydrated foods. The group also made a video explaining the importance of vegetables in the diet.

Providers in Chiriquí, Panamá. The product was made with the dehydrated mixture of five green
leafy vegetables which are moringa (Moringa oleífera), mustard green (Brassica juncea),spinach (Spinacea oleracea), collard greens (Brassica oleracea var, viridis) and kale” exerpt from her study :
