BEGINNING A NEW YEAR
Hola!
January 2022, the beginning of a new year. Rainbows are prevalent in January in Boquete, along with the winds. Boquete is truly the Rainbow Forrest. Furthermore, Bajareque is in full bloom. It is the dry season, so very few rainfalls. In addition, the Flower Faire is going on as I write this, so noisy nights prevail for a few days- lasts until the middle of the night.
WRITING GOALS FOR 2022
Needless to say, I am eager to start January with three goals. I am working on a new book for Ngäbe children taking place on the Comarca and, of course, with Chalina. I am on my first draft and have a professional critique already. My second project is the Ngäbe Alphabet, and the third project is a Ngäbe coloring book. A lot of work is ahead!
WRITING COURSES CONTINUE
Moreover, taking writing courses continues into 2022. Writers are always learning, especially new writers. There is so much to learn about the writing craft. Trying to write frequently is another goal for a new year. It is so easy to become caught up in other events in life and put off writing.
SHORT STORIES
In beginning a new year, I have made a goal to attempt to write one short story a month to send in for critique. It helps to know where I need to improve. A website I use is pro.thewritepractice.com. Joe Bunting is the facilitator.
NGÄBE MINISTRY
Also, beginning a new year brings the continuation of the children’s feeding programs on the Comarca. See Ngäbe Bugle Nation. Christmas involved a lot of buying and wrapping presents for the Ngäbe children in the programs.
ORPHANS PROGRAM
We now have 12 orphans in the Orphan Program. Some Ngäbe women have three orphan children they are taking care of in Chorcha. We gave them extra food for Christmas to help them with the Holidays. We have been working with the program since we initiated it a few months ago.
